The view from the lakeshore just off of Lily Lake Trail on the opposite side from the trailhead offers a great view of Lily Lake and right up the forested slopes of The Crags that lead up to Twin Sisters Peak East. The shore here is mostly dirt with a shallow slope to it. Lily Lake Trail circumnavigates the lake and is comprised of both leveled dirt and wood decking. The walk around the lake is nice level stroll and takes you over a wooden foot bridge at the base of the slopes to Edge of Time Rock. There is an asphalt parking lot right by the trailhead and a dirt parking lot across S St Vrain Ave. Parking is also available along the roadside in this area. Lily Lake is a very popular site with lots of visitors. Lily Ridge Trail leads up the north side of the lake and provides some striking overlooks of the lake and the trailhead itself. Lily Ridge Trail is quite rocky with large steps, but it’s only a few minutes hike to get up to the views. Ceremonies aren’t allowed on Lily Ridge Trail, but it is a striking area for couples photos. Pets are only allowed around the dock area and not around the lake trail. Lily Lake does not require a vehicle pass to access.
