Mount Falcon Park – Tower

The Tower at the top of Mount Falcon is a strong newly build structure that looks out to the northeast with views of Mount Morrison on the left, the Walker Mansion Ruins nearby and center, and Green Mountain in the distance. There is a seating bench in the fairly narrow space and it may be a challenge for a photographer to capture people and the view. But there is something to be said for being on a tower on the top of a mountain. The hike is about 3/4 of a mile with gradually increasing difficulty of terrain. The first half-mile is roughly flat on a wide graded dirt path which then transitions uphill, and then for the last couple hundred yards is a narrow rocky path with the occasional stone set of stairs. There is a well, a meadow, forested paths and some other rocky overlooks nearby that would work well for couple’s photos. Afternoon thunderstorms are pretty typical for the area during the summer which doesn’t combine well with being on a metal structure on the top of a mountain. So watch the weather and plan/act accordingly. Notably, the vault restrooms are near the parking lot and not easily accessible from the Tower, so plan accordingly. The parking lot gets busy and can actually get full, so carpooling and early arrival is highly recommended.
