Daniels & Fisher Clocktower
Prior to 1950, the Daniels & Fisher Department store was the pinnacle of the Denver skyline. It was built in 1911 and, at the time, its height of 393 feet made it the tallest structure west of the Mississippi. Visitors to its wrap-around balconies on the 17th and 20th floors could see 200 miles in any direction. The current Denver skyline blocks some of its once epic view of the mountains and plains and replaces it with an urban feel. The architectural style of the building is Italian Renaissance and is quite a contrast to the style of neighboring buildings. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and it nightly lights up the Denver skyline as a defining building for downtown. The top five floors of this beloved structure are available for small, private events through Clock Tower Events. Located atop the tower, the recently renovated space features décor that is elegant & modern. While you could probably do a ceremony on any of the five floors, it’s the view from behind the clock faces that typically invite the most attention. The elevator goes up to the 17th floor. Stairs are required from there on up. There are several parking garages nearby and metered street parking, but no parking directly at the tower. There is one loading and unloading parking space, but you’ll need to consult with the admin authority to see if you can use it. It is a truly unique and special space.
