Button Rock Trailhead – Longmont Reservoir Dam

The waterfall off of the Longmont Reservoir Dam provides a truly unique view. Most Colorado waterfalls are narrow, so the sheer breadth of this waterfall makes it special. The waterfall may not always be present depending on the water levels and time of year, so check with admin authority about what to expect. The landing down by the North Saint Vrain Creek is pretty small and can only support smaller guest counts. However, additional guests could stand up on the road overlooking the landing. The creek side landing can really allow you to use the whole of the waterfall as a background. The Button Rock Trailhead mainly supports hikers taking the half hour trek up to Ralph Price Reservoir. There will likely be several passerbys overlooking the ceremony, but it’s highly unlikely anyone will disturb it. The parking area and road up to the trailhead were well maintained.
